Sidekick Users Get a Kickback

Recently, quite a number of T-Mobile Sidekick users suffered a pretty damaging blow. Specifically, many of them lost the data they had in their phones — permanently, mind you — thanks to a glitch in Microsoft’s server.

But hey, don’t worry! If you lost all of your pictures, phone numbers, addresses, and who knows how much other types of information, T-Mobile is going to compensate you. You get a gift card worth one hundred dollars!

Sorry, forgive the cynical tone there. Although I use T-Mobile, I do not have a Sidekick, so the glitch did not affect me. I know how much stuff I have in my phone, though, and I can only imagine what the affected Sidekick users are dealing with. A gift card seems a little chintzy, I guess.

Fortunately it seems like T-Mobile thought so too, because they are also offer a month of data service for free.
