Stop Texting While Driving!

All of us are probably guilty of this at one point or another. You are stopped at a red light, paused at a stop sign, or traffic is light so you just … pop off a quick text to a friend. Or you take it one step further and just text yourself away even during rush hour traffic or as you are blasting down the freeway. Well … stop it!

This is not a moral order but it may soon be a legal one, because a group of senators are currently trying to push a bill which would make states ban the sending of text messages when people are driving — or else a quarter of the money spent annually on their highways will disappear.

This is due to studies initiated by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute which found that drivers who text were an amazing twenty three times more likely to get involved in accidents or near misses.
